Hmm. I guess that "in a calamitous world" the cartoonist would prefer that Twister of Knickers focus on more serious concerns like...terrorism? Persecution of Chinese dissidents?
But in her own personal concern economy, she'll get a lot more bang for her buck worrying about spices and bacteria--since those are the things that are going to keep her baby (ergo her) up at night.
If only moms would stop wasting time confiscating plastic bags from their infants and get busy penning cartoons and writing blogs, we'd all be better off.
