Great column! It's about time somebody started talking about adaptation. Let's face it - nobody is going to do anything to significantly affect anthropogenic global warming, so we might as well figure out how to deal with it. The doomsayers would do well to take a lesson from Malthus's theories on population and food supply - human ingenuity will always find a way to cope.

Of course global warming will be good for Canadians, and frozen near-Canadians like Minnesotans and the residents of Buffalo, New York.
But who's going to tell the elephants?
