Five millennia after he was left lying face down in the Ötztal Alps to be engulfed by glaciation, the world-famous Tyrolean "iceman" Ötzi has been ruled a homicide victim by anthropologists using advanced medical-imaging technology. Let's mourn our unlucky tattooed ancestor, I suggest in an editorial for Monday's Post, rather than the state of nature in which he lived.

Original sin? More like there is increasing evidence that we are not fallen, there was nothing to fall from.

Apart from commentors who can't catch a metaphor, I think that this is useful to underscore that the history of humanity has been one that is primarily of violence. It could be argued that we are becoming more peaceful, rather than less. This could undermine the evolutionary behavior theory, as the most successful nations in war (mostly the 1st world) are rapidly becoming the most pacifist.
